School Hall

Our hall is the community hub of the school. It is a multifunctional space; PE lessons, regulation, assemblies, lunches and after school clubs all take place here. It is a great space for us to hold external visitors such as drama, music and sports groups. Our pupils have created a lovely colourful wall art instillation which brightens up the space.  We have recently installed a new screen and sound system which is great for when we have our impromptu ‘Boogie Blasts’.

Soft Play

Soft play is a colourful and vibrant space for our pupils to explore and engage with each other. The design of the room allows for gross motor movements in a safe and secure space. Pupils can run, jump, climb, roll, crawl and slide. As well as being used as a play based area, soft play also benefits pupils who need some regulation time on their own. The tunnel and cave allow for personal and reflective space for pupils to ready themselves for the rest of the day.

Experience Room

The experience room benefits from bright lights but blocked out windows so the lighting can be used to suit the situation.  With blank walls it allows for large images and videos to be projected and the sound system lends to a cinema style experience. This room is used for daily regulation circuits as well as weekly MOVE sessions.

Calming Room

Our calming room offers pupils a place to go when they feel that they need to regulate in a space away from others. The design of the room and the open door policy ensures pupils feel safe and supported when they require it the most. Reducing visual stimuli enables pupils to focus on themselves rather than what is around them.

Sensory Room

The sensory room is a cosy space that can be used for small group work and 1:1 sessions. The sensory room is accessed throughout the day by a range of pupils. The size of the room ensures pupils get the best effect from the lights and equipment and is a great space for intensive interaction.

Library

Our library offers pupils a wide range of reading material. Literature ranges from early reader picture books through to novels for our abler readers. We also have a good selection of large print books that can be used for shared reading sessions. Pupils can work in here on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.  As well as books; the library also boasts a selection of sensory stories.
