Pearl class follows an EYFS curriculum, following the Cherry Garden’s curriculum.

We have 6 main areas of learning, these are: Communication, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Understanding of the World and Creative Development, as well as following the Little wandle phonics scheme.

In Early years, the children learn through exploration, directed tasks and play. We have a structured timetable that offers pupils lots of opportunities for massage, songs, reading and outdoor play. Pupils begin their day with regulation, before greeting each other for register.

Pearl pupils have lots of opportunities to develop their early communication skills through core boards, symbols, vocalisations and Makaton. Pupils use strategies such as intensive interaction, attention autism and developing an understanding of cause and effect through switch toys and games.
